Cobus is a Professional Senior Architect (SACAP) practicing in South Africa and the Gulf Region for the past 10+ years. His strengths lie in creative problem-solving with a natural ability to establish project strategy. 

Cobus excels in client relations and is most comfortable communicating a project outcome through a design narrative. His approach to management uses a curated structure where collaborative decision-making and project ownership are encouraged.

Cobus has gained experience working in private practice, explorative small creative studio spaces and corporate-structured global architectural consultancy. Working under the mentorship of industry leaders honed his skills to excel at design and technical resolution on all scales. His career has seen involvement in exciting hospitality, residential, planning, education and extensive healthcare projects. 

His design ethos sees the planning and spatial relations within a building as a core principle of good architecture. His vast experience in the healthcare sector moulded a passion for navigating between strict requirements and regulations to explore how spatial interactions and progression could allow architecture to result from a user-orientated process.

Cobus graduated from his postgraduate studies Cum-Laude as a top student in his class at the University of the Witwatersrand, continuing his studies after an extended break from his BSc.Architecture degree at the University of Pretoria. 

Working as a Senior Architect in Dubai for the past two years, his career is a continuation of developing skills and expertise. He believes that working in ever-diverse environments that will allow him to excell in all spheres of the Architecture Profession.
